![]() ![]() You need this money to swiftly build up walls, hire more men, and build your boat to move on. Do not build towers unless it is intended as a permanent anchor point for a fire tower that is slightly behind or in front of your outer wall. If it means taking extra time to plan out exactly how you are expanding, then take the extra day rather than be stuck holding a suboptimal wall position that doesn't let your archers earn you cash. Do not ever build a wall so close to a greed portal that you cannot clear cut 2 screens worth of forest. Hunting is an excellent source of money and contrary to what people are saying, archers, are still good. Clear cut at least 2 screens away from your outer wall. It has been a long time since I finished Two Crowns so I do not recall precisely whether there was the same need to rush but extreme speed up to island 3 is almost mandatory. For those who want a more relaxing and slow build-up period, it is likely impossible to play in such a fashion and achieve the one reign. There is, unfortunately, IMO, no choice but rush at least for the first part. My way is also designed for max efficiency skipping all non-essential (in my view) upgrades as I did not know how hard the game would scale beyond year 1. But this is the strategy I came up with after seeing all 6 islands and learning the new buffs and mechanics. I am sure there are players better than I am that can find a more optimal path or still succeed using a less optimal path. This is my "My Way" and not necessarily "The Way" or "The True Way". If you are a dev wanting feedback, my thoughts are after the guide.įirst off, the guide. Overall, I felt Norselands was worth the price of admission through the advertised "tactics" changes that weren't really well implemented. Below I will present my strategy and give my thoughts on why there is this disconnect. I beat Norselands in 1 reign on the 3rd run after abandoning the first two runs learning the mechanics of new mounts and being an idiot and losing my crown to a crown thief. The structures and developments in different islands can be tracked using the map in the pause screen.I know many of you are struggling with Norselands and there is somewhat of a disconnect between some of the player base and the Devs with regards to difficulty. On every island (except the first one) the Monarch can encounter gems to unlock new mounts, statues and hermits that can help them on their journey. Moving to a new island does not reset the overall day count nor the seasons cycle, but each island has its own local day count.Īll islands have similar geography, but each successive island gets progressively larger and harder, affecting the number of towers, walls and farms that can exist in the Kingdom. Repairing the boat and setting sail unlocks the next island in sequence ( see map). There are five islands in total, and only the first one is available upon starting the campaign. The longer they are away, the more gets destroyed or downgraded. While Monarchs are away from an island, the buildings there start to decay. In order not to wreck the ship each time, it may be a good idea to clear the dock portal and build a lighthouse first, before leaving an island. Monarchs can move between these islands with the boat and will occasionally have to revisit the same islands a couple of times in order to reach their goal. Islands in the Kingdom Two Crowns are pieces of land surrounded by a river, a sea and a mountain, where Monarchs establish permanent bases to survive the Greed, generate an economy and destroy the cave in the mountain. For the alternative lands, see: Challenge Islands.
